Fish! turns your ordinarily lifeless Macintosh display into an animated aquarium. At your command, Fish! will work continually behind your application windows, or will fill your screen with fish when your Mac sits idle. Like real fish, Fish! will not interfere with your work, will not make noise or messes in the office and will provide you with a relaxing display. Unlike real fish, they do not need to be fed, do not need to have their tank cleaned, work as well in black & white as they do in color, and can be edited to individual taste. To Install Fish! For Previous Fish Owners: If you have an older version of Fish already installed, first move it out of your System Folder. Any fish species you may have already created are stored in that file and will be lost if you replace it with another version of Fish! Use ‘Import’ from within ‘Edit Fish’ to bring your old fish into the new version. To install Version 2.0 of Fish!, simply copy it into your System Folder and Restart. You should then see a fish appear momentarily at the bottom of your screen after the "Welcome to Macintosh" message. If all goes well, you will then have fish swimming across your screen. You can adjust the behavior of Fish! by selecting "Control Panel" from the Apple menu and choosing the Fish! icon. Controlling Fish: • Number O' Fish: Lets you select up to 99 fish to appear on the screen. • Screen Saver Fish!: Enables the screen saver option. When Fish! detects that your machine is idle, it will gently fill your screen with fish until you touch your mouse or keyboard. The screen saver option can help prolong the life of your monitor by keeping your menus and windows from becoming engrained in your screen. You can set various screen saver options through the Options dialog. • Desktop Fish!: When enabled, fish will swim on the desktop behind your windows. • Edit Fish: This brings up the Fish Editor, allowing you to create and edit your own species, change the behavior of species and import species from other Fish files. Species can also be made inactive, so that no fish of that species will appear. • About: Brings up infomative text, mostly about Fish! • Options: Lets you set various options to control the screen saver and desktop Fish!
